Chocolate, in addition to the sweet taste, this one turned out food that can cure acute cough. It is revealed from the results of research conducted by scientists from the U.S. National Institute of Cardiology, Pulmonology and Hematology.

The results as reported by Dailymail shows a dark chocolate contains theobromine that can cure cough. The research was carried out to about 300 people suffering from acute cough. For 14 days every two times a day, the study participants were given dietary supplements containing natural theobromine.

Theobromine dose used in the trial of 1,000 mg. After two weeks given the supplement, 60 percent of study participants significantly reduced cough illness. The research results can be explained that the effects of theobromine sensor can reduce coughing.

The results of this study also confirmed previous research from the National Heart and Lung National. The results of previous studies showing theobromine can block the action of sensory nerves that could ultimately stop the cough reflex. Theobromine was also more effective than codeine.

'' Eat a bar of dark chocolate per day may be effective for people who suffer from a persistent cough. But, of course, eating chocolate not too much so that the weight does not go up,'' said lead researcher Professor Alyn Morice, head of the Hull Cough Clinic.
